ICM Do 17Z-7, WWII German Night Fighter Plane 1/72 Item No. ICM72307
In the beginning of the 1930s, there was a desire for a high-speed bomber that could outpace contemporary fighter planes. One plane to come to fruition from this desire was the twin-engine bomber Do 17 designed and produced by German company Dornier Flugzeugwerke. Since the beginning of 1939, they produced Do 17Z planes with new “Waffenkopf” type nose part and air-cooled Bramo 323 Fafnir engines. In 1939-1940, they produced about 500 Do 17Z-1 and Do 17Z-2 bombers. In 1940, Do 17Z-7 Kauz I night fighters were also produced. These planes had a powerful nose-fired armament and served in the night fighter unit 1/ NJG 2 up to the beginning of 1941.
